Court date continued for local business owner

The court date for Britt’s Motorsports Owner David Scott Britt was continued last week. Britt was originally slated to appear in a New Hanover County courtroom Thursday, November 12. That date has since been pushed back to December.

Britt faces felony charges for allegedly altering or changing a manufacturer’s serial number on a motorcycle and fraudulent title application. DMV officials say Britt was using salvaged motorcycle parts and welding the vehicle identification number to another frame in order to get a fraudulent title.

The Britt’s deny these charges. Mr. Britt said he and his family have operated the business for more than 30-years honorably and have never taken advantage of anyone. Robert Connelly, a Britt’s Motorsports employee, and Donald Hill, a former employee, also face charges.
