UPDATE: Fire off of Market St. due to cigarettes

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Fire officials said improperly discarded smoking materials is to blame for an overnight fire.

It happened around 3 a.m. in the 6300-block of Market Street behind the Go-Gas. A WFD spokesman said a wooded area was on fire as well as a shed. behind a home on Elisha Drive.

There were no injuries but the shed is a total loss. The fire was cleared after a couple of hours.
