Crews prepare for wintry weather in western North Carolina

Western North Carolina is bracing for its first possible snow of the season.

On Monday, NCDOT crews at the Buncombe County salt yard prepared for Tuesday morning’s potentially slick roads.

They’re getting the road treatment ready with sheds fully loaded with mounds of salt and brine.

DOT spreaders are ready to fan out across the county if snowfall impacts even some of the lower elevations.
