Crews respond to gas line break near Heide Trask High School

PENDER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Crews responded Wednesday morning to a gas line break near Heide Trask High School.

The line was ruptured near the entrance/exit to the school.

Piedmont Natural Gas is on-site conducting repairs. 

Due to the distance from the school, officials say students and staff are not in danger.

“Our primary focus is on maintaining the well-being of everyone and continuing with an uninterrupted school day,” a Pender County Schools spokesperson said.
