Crews respond to Wilmington house fire

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington Fire crews are on scene of a single family house fire.

Assistant Fire Chief Sammy Flowers said it happened at 201 Kidder Street.

Crews arrived to heavy flames showing from the back of the building. The fire is completely out at this time.

During the primary search, Flowers said crews found a dog inside. Fire and EMS attempted to revive the dog but were unable to.

Flowers said crews will remain on scene for a while longer.  The investigation into the cause and origin may not be finished until morning.
