Cross-City Trail work causing more lane closures
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — More work continues on the Cross-City Trail. This work will affect traffic starting tonight through May 16.
According to a news release, lane closures at South College Road and South 17th Street/Waltmoor Road will begin tonight at 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. tomorrow. The same schedule will be in place for ten days. Officials say there will be intermittent lane closures on South College Road at its intersection with South 17th Street and Waltmoor Road so crews can complete drainage improvements and work associated with the Gary Shell Cross-City Trail.
Officials say this is one of the last sections of the 15-mile trail to be built and will stretch 1.3 miles from John D. Barry Drive and cross South College Road to Waltmoor Road.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the area.
