CSX to work on railroad crossings in Wilmington next week

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — CSX will close seven railroad crossings across the city this week for tie maintenance.
These closures were originally scheduled for August but were delayed due to Tropical Storm Debby. Here’s the current schedule:
- Nov. 4 – N. 6th St. (near N. 7th St.)
- Nov. 4 – Hilton St. (near N. 7th St.)
- Nov. 6 – Henry St. (near Princess Place Dr.)
- Nov. 6 – Colonial Dr. (near Columbia Ave.)
- Nov. 6 – River to Sea Bikeway (near Dawson St.)
- Nov. 7 – Marstellar St. (near S. 13th St.)
- Nov. 7 – S. 13th St. (near Marstellar St.)
Each crossing will require a total road closure, which could last 3-5 days. CSX said it will try and get the crossings that are one way in/out with businesses behind them completed in 12 hours.
Detours will be in place ahead of the closings. Here’s a Google Maps link to help visualize the closures.
