Cucalorus Film Festival honors 15 filmmakers

Wilmington, NC (WWAY)– Wilmington’s own Cucalorus Film Festival is underway. On Thursday, a luncheon at Thalian Hall, fifteen North Carolina filmmakers were awarded a total of twelve thousand dollars.

The money will be shared to help finance production. Priya Sircar, who directed the movie called “Murmation”, screened it last year at the festival, she emphasizes her excitement.

“To receive this award here through Cucalorus film festival, is really special because my first short was screened at Cucalaros last year. For Cucalorus to keep nurturing me as a filmmaker is really exciting and I appreciate it”, said Sircar.

The thirty first annual film festival is still going on until the twenty third of November.
