Cucalorus ready for 21st year

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) —  This year will be the 21st for the Cucalorus Film Festival.

Friday night the non-competitive festival was the featured non-profit at the Downtown Sundown Concert Series.  A portion of the proceeds from wristband sales go to Cucalorus.   We caught up with Tommy Van Arsdale, the development director for CFF, to talk about the excitement so far.

“This year, were honing in our special genres which is exciting,” Arsdale said. “Especially our works-in-progress…trying to integrate our visiting artist program into the festival more.”

They also plan to tour the state with inflatable screens to show films and drum up more interest and support for Cucalorus.

Organizers are currently taking submissions for this fall and Arsdale says the volunteer support is very strong.

The 2015 Cucalorus Film Festival takes place November 11-15, 2015 in downtown Wilmington, North Carolina.

Everything you need to know about the festival can be found on their website here.
