DA talks safety at area schools
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — District Attorney Ben David traveled to local schools to talk with students about personal safety and the law.
David covered topics from internet security to drinking and driving. He was joined by a family who lost their son about six years ago in a drunk driving accident.
Mike Rossi, the father of that young man, said these talks are important to have, even if it only changes on students mind about impaired driving.
“It’s not like hearing it from an administrator or from a police chief or judge, when you hear it from people that have lived it, I think it hits home,” Rossi said.
The DA said whether you realize it or not, kids and young adults learn through the examples they see at home. He cautions parents to be wary of their actions because kids learn through example.
