Day care worker had boy take drug test for adult son
ROCK HILL, SC (AP) – Police say they are investigating a day care employee who told an 8-year-old boy to give a urine sample so her adult son could use it to pass a drug test.
The Rock Hill Police report said the boy told his mother that he was awakened from a nap last week and told to urinate in a cup.
Investigators say the mother called the worker at New Beginnings Childcare, who apologized several times and told her that her son had just got out of jail and couldn’t find a job.
Police spokesman Mark Bollinger says no charges have been filed, but investigators are reviewing a state law that makes it illegal to defraud a drug test.
No one answered the phone Wednesday at New Beginnings Childcare.
