Day four and still no sign of missing Fayetteville man in Bladen County park
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) – Day four of the search is over and still no signs of a missing Fayetteville man in Bladen County.
All day Tuesday the state parks service has used SONAR as they focus on the lake at Singletary Lake State Park.
“I pray that this ends with a miracle,” said Jesse’s father David whose family has spent each night camping at the park since his son went missing.
The family has had to deal with the same reality since Friday night.
“We still have not located Jesse,” said park superintendent Kristen Woodruff.
Search crews brought in SONAR to search deeper waters around the lake that they found to be 12 to 16 feet deep. Woodruff said the lake itself is more than 570 acres. That also played a part to make the search more difficult for dive teams.
Woodruff said they are changing their course of action.
“We are focusing on more of a recovery as of now.”
That’s something Sgro’s family still hopes is not the case.
“We’re still holding on to hope, we’ve got to hold on to hope. It’s really hard to live life without hope,” said David.
The search will continue with more divers, equipment, and K-9’s expected for day five.
“We are praying and we are hoping that this is going to have a miracle ending.”
