Debris fire at West Fraser Armor Mill in Riegelwood

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) –A debris fire broke out at the West Fraser Armor Mill in Riegelwood Saturday afternoon, spreading across 11 acres.

Acme-Delco Riegelwood Fire Rescue Chief Steve Camlin said crews were called to the scene around 1:45 p.m.

Multiple agencies, including several Columbus County Fire Departments, responded to help contain the blaze.

Columbus County Fire Marshal Shannon Blackman confirmed that crews remained on the scene until 2:30 a.m. to fully extinguish the fire.

No injuries have been reported.
