Democrats speak out at Pence event, say jobs should be the focus of the election
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The chair of the New Hanover County Democratic Party was out at the Mike Pence rally this afternoon.
Richard Poole said he thinks that it is important for people to hear messages from both sides of the election and today he hoped to share his side with folks at the event. He said the focus should be on jobs, and he believes democratic candidates have a better plan.
“Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine have a meaningful plan for jobs. They want to make this economy work for everybody. They have a plan the according to economists will create 300,000 new jobs. Their opponents have a plan that will cost 100,000 jobs,” said Poole.
He adds he believes that republicans are pushing what he calls discriminatory voter laws to help their candidates win.
