Deputies arrest 60-year-old woman in New Hanover County bank robbery

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a woman in connection with a robbery at the State Employees Credit Union on Sanders Road earlier this month.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson says 60-year-old Rhonda West was taken into custody on Wednesday following an investigation into the October 9 robbery at the credit union, located at 141 Sanders Road in Wilmington.

West is charged with robbery and is being held without bond at the New Hanover County Detention Facility.

Officials say she’s scheduled make her first court appearance Thursday at 2:00 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office credited its deputies, detectives, and partner agencies for their work in the case.
