Deputies: Drugs & guns seized during probation violation arrest

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — On Thursday afternoon, the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office and the US Marshals Service arrested 26-year-old Joseph Wayne Hunt in the Buckhead area of Bladen County on a probation violation.

Deputies say Hunt had been wanted by the North Carolina Probation and Parole in Cumberland County for several months after violating his probation.

During a search of his home, deputies reported finding four weapons, including assault rifles and pistols and nearly 8 grams of marijuana.

Hunt was charged with possession of a firearm by felon and possession of marijuana.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hunt was taken back to Cumberland County by the US Marshals Service.

The sheriff’s office said they had received numerous complaints about drugs being sold from the residents over the past several months.
