Deputies arrest man involved in chase overnight near Monkey Junction

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office says the man involved in a domestic dispute and a chase overnight is in custody.

Lt. Jerry Brewer with the sheriff’s office said Aaron Chase Fowler was arrested this morning.

Just after 11 p.m. Thursday, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block Shiloh Drive regarding a domestic dispute.

Brewer said, when deputies arrived, they spoke to the victim who said the suspect had come to her house and stole her car and he had a warrant for his arrest for assaulting her previously. Shortly after that, deputies located the car traveling on Sanders Road where they activated blue lights and siren.

Brewer said the suspect took off and a chase began. He said deputies chased the suspect on Manassas Drive and Carolina Beach Road where they deployed stop sticks. Brewer said the suspect hit the stop sticks and drove into the Food Lion parking lot and ran.

Brewer said deputies where unable to locate the suspect after he ran away. The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office said Fowler had 12 felony warrants for his arrest.
