Details announced for Minority Enterprise Development week

CAPE FEAR, NC (WWAY) — Entrepreneurs across Southeastern North Carolina have an exciting week coming up next month.

Minority Enterprise Development Week, presented by the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce, provides numerous opportunities for those seeking help with their small businesses.

From October 7th through the 15th, a variety of events will take place, offering support specifically to women- and minority-owned businesses.

Several organizations will participate, including the University of North Carolina Wilmington and Cape Fear Community College.

Linda Thompson, the Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer for New Hanover County, encourages aspiring and existing business owners to take part in this event.

“We’re hoping this will inspire that business owner that’s kind of sitting home wondering… should I? Can I? This is hopefully an opportunity for them to come out, visit many of our activities that are free, and find out what they can do to make their dream a reality…” Thompson says.
