Diamond Hawks’ Brody Lawson named CAA Baseball Rookie of the Week

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The strong season continued for UNCW red-shirt freshman Brody Lawson over the weekend.

Lawson pitched a career-long 7.1 inning in the Seahawks 8-4 win over Towson. That performance earned him the CAA Rookie of the Week honor.

Lawson’s record sits at 3-0 on the year with a 4.03 ERA.

UNCW baseball has a busy week ahead of them on the schedule. The Seahawks will start the week with a home-and-home series with Coastal Carolina. Game one of the series is at Brooks Field on Tuesday with a 6 p.m. first pitch.
