UPDATE: Students, driver discharged from hospital after bus accident

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A spokeswoman with New Hanover County Schools says two students and a bus driver were taken to the hospital to be examined after a crash involving a school bus this morning.

Dispatchers say Wilmington Police, EMS and Highway Patrol responded to the crash in the 1800 block of N. Kerr Avenue just after 7 a.m. A photo of the crash submitted by one of our viewers shows a Jetta rear-ending the New Hanover County School bus.

No word on charges in the incident, but school spokeswoman Valita Quattlebaum said the students and driver who were taken to the hospital have now been discharged.
