Downtown Business Alliance to host District Day in downtown Wilmington this weekend
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Downtown Business Alliance will host its inaugural District Day this weekend. President Andrea Arth sat down with GMC anchor Tomika Jackson to discuss how the event will create opportunities for residents to explore new areas, support local businesses, and experience downtown Wilmington in a more relaxed, connected way.
“We’ve grown so much through the years that I don’t think people realize we have so many shops and little districts we’ve created throughout town,” Arth said. She says, she hopes residents can enjoy the shops, restaurants, and businesses in the districts.
“When people don’t have to think about driving or parking, they’re more likely to explore different districts, discover new businesses, and spend more time downtown,” Arth said.
District Day highlights the accessibility and diversity of downtown Wilmington’s districts while encouraging residents and visitors to explore the city in a simple, car-free way.
The event will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
