Downtown Wilmington community overflows with support for storm victims

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Businesses throughout downtown Wilmington are doing what they can to help storm victims. Many are offering specials deals for you while also giving back to those in need.

Here’s a list of the places that are offering specials deals:

• Beginning Oct 1- Donating $1 from every Oktoberfest Beer we pour to the #GetOverFlo effort. We have 2 batches of this beer, so this should last us well into November.
• Donating $1 from every $9.99 Pulled Chicken Nacho
• Mondays and Tuesdays, Boneless Chicken Wing Special – 6 for $3
• Regular daily drink specials of $2.99 Well Drinks on Mondays and $1.99 Mugs of Beer on Tuesdays.

• For the Month- “Serve others by serving your yourself” penny for every ounce poured to be donated
• Oct 8-14- 1/2 of Proceeds from Taproom Nachos will go to Charity
• Oct 12th Weekend: Ballast Point 40 tap takeover

• For the month- we will have a special pizza that 50% of all sales go to hurricane relief

• Cocktails for Carolina: Profits from the cocktail menu featuring NC distilleries are donated

• Donating $2 from every sale of Arroz Con Pollo, which is made using local chicken legs from Kyle Stenerson at Humble Roots Farm in Porters Neck
• Donating $2 from the sale of each of our rum punch special, the “Flo-Rida

• Fundraising event on Fri, Oct 12th from 5:00 PM- 10:00 PM. $1 of every “Hurricane Relief Session IPA” will go toward Tidewater Brewing to help with their rebuild efforts (We are continuing this fundraising effort for the entire batch of beer not just 12 Oct) $1 of every “Double Bach” and “White Lager” sold during the event will go toward the Good Shepard Center. Modern Legend (Their location was damaged) is going to set up items for sale within Ironclad during this event”

• Oct 9- Oct 27- Collaboration with Kellogg Selections and Winemaker Eric Railsback. Presquile Pinot Noir will be a wine by the glass option with #3 donated from every glass ordered.
• Oct 16- Oct 20- “High Pressure System”- our riff on a Manhattan with Eujan Craig and a “twist”. $2 will be donated for every drink ordered during this period.

• Oct 15 from 3:00 PM- 10:00 PM- $1 for ever beer purchased will be donated to the OverFlo Campaign.

• Original K38 Baja Fish Tacos- $1 for every Baja Fish Taco sold during the month of October

Cape Fear Spice Merchants- 20 Market Street      

• Donating $1.00 from each sale of coffee and tea to go from Oct 1-31, 2018. We will also donate $1.00 from the sale of our House made Hurricane Black Tea and our newly created Sunny Days Citrus Spice Rub October 1-31. Owners Gary and Sue Coleman will personally match a portion of the money raised from the sale of all of the above.

• An Art raffle will continue through October 26th.  All proceeds will benefit Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard (an emergency food pantry). Tickets are $1.00 each and may be purchased during Tues – Sat, 10 am to 6 pm and until 7:30 pm on Fourth Friday Gallery Night in the gallery. Drawing of the winning ticket will be on Fourth Friday, Oct 26, at 7:30 pm.  You do not have to be present to win.  The person who wins the raffle will receive his or her choice of any one work of art in the gallery.  Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard is an all-volunteer, 501(c)3 organization that has been helping hungry people in our community for over 32 years.  http://www.motherhubbardsnc.com/
