Dr. John, Shamekia Copeland to headline Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival
KURE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — Dr. John and the Nite Trippers and Shemekia Copeland will headline the 22nd Annual Pleasure Island Seafood, Blues & Jazz Festival this fall.
Dr. John and the Nite Trippers will take the stage on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Fort Fisher Air Force Recreation Center. The six-time Grammy Award winner and 2011 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee mixes blues, pop and jazz with Zydeco, Boogie-Woogie and rock to create a unique sound.
On Sunday, Oct. 11, Copeland returns for a second year in a row. The two-time Grammy nominee has been called the “Queen of the Blues.”
The two-day festival also includes a free Kidzone with magicians, face-painting, educational exhibits, inflatables, laser tag and much more. There will also be vendors.
