Drexel out shoots UNCW men’s basketball, Seahawks drop fourth straight

PHILADELPHIA, PA (WWAY)–UNCW men’s basketball shot just 2-18 from the three point line on Thursday night as the Seahawks fell to Drexel 69-57.

UNCW led in the game 44-43 with 11:29 left to go in the game, but Drexel would go on a 10-2 run headed into the under eight minute timeout. The Seahawks would never hold the lead the rest of the game.

The loss drops UNCW to now just 8-17 overall , it is their fourth loss in a row. Devontae Cacok led the Seahawks in the score column finishing with a team-high 15 points. Jaylen Sims was the only other player for UNCW to score in double-figures with 11.

Alihan Demir was the leading scorer for the Dragons. Demir had a game-high 20 points to go along with eight rebounds in the win for Drexel.

UNCW will continue their road trip on Saturday night when they take on Delaware in Newark. Last time out against the Blue Hens, UNCW lost at home 82-69. Tip-off between the Seahawks and Delaware is set for 7:00 P.M. on Saturday night.
