Driver charged with DWI, hit and run after flipping car into drive through


NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Highway Patrol says a man is facing charges after flipping his car into the drive through of Cook Out.

Troopers said it happened around 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning in Monkey Junction. The trooper said Thor Peterson II, 24, flipped his car over a median into the drive through.

The Highway Patrol charged him with driving while impaired and a hit and run.

No injuries were reported. Troopers said there was minimal damage to the building.
