Durham woman charged with killing 2-week-old daughter
DURHAM, NC (AP) — A Durham woman is accused of killing her 2-week-old daughter in June.
Local media outlets report that 30-year-old Twila Mae Beunier was charged Thursday with murder and felony child abuse. She’s being held in the Durham County jail without bond.
Police say officers responded to a home after receiving a cardiac arrest call about 6 a.m. June 6. The infant, Briseida Abarada, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the infant’s death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy showed the baby suffered head injuries.
