Early morning fire on S. 7th Street ruled intentional
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A fire that broke out early this morning at a home on South 7th Street has been ruled intentional, according to the Wilmington Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched to the home shortly before 6:30 a.m. Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke and visible flames. After searching the home to confirm no one was inside, they began working to put out the fire, the department said.
There were no injuries reported. However, three adults and one child were displaced by the fire and are currently receiving assistance from the Red Cross.
Authorities have determined that the fire was incendiary in nature. The case has been handed over to the Wilmington Police Department for further investigation.
