Edible books on display at North Brunswick High School

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The media center at North Brunswick High School was home to some different kind of literature Thursday.

An edible book contest gave students the opportunity to bring some of their favorite stories to life in a tasty way.

Theresa Cozart, the school’s media coordinator, said it’s a fun, interactive, way to get students excited about reading.

“I wanted to do something different and unique,” she said. “Something to get the students excited about books, and thinking about the books that they’ve read and the fun that they had with reading. That reading’s not just an assignment to get done for school but also something for your life to have a great time with.”

Three awards were given out at the end of the day for best in show, healthiest creation, and most creative.
