WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Edward Teach Brewing has responded to allegations of inappropriate behavior by the business owner.

Earlier this month, a widely-shared Facebook post from Madonna Nash claimed the owner caused a confrontation with a musician while they were performing at the Wilmington taproom.

The post said the owner pushed his way on stage, became aggressive and made derogatory comments at the singer’s friend.

Edward Teach responded on Facebook recently, saying the friend misunderstood an “innocent gesture” from the owner, became hostile and was told to leave.

The statement said this is a misguided campaign to destroy the brewery’s business.

“ETB management reviewed security footage of the incident the next day, November 17th, and spoke to staff who had worked the night before, concluding the incident required no further action,” the statement read in part.

WWAY reached out to Madonna Nash to set up an interview. However, she later declined our request.
