Elderly woman crashes into Wilmington food mart

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — One Wilmington store owner thought a car was parking. He turned away to help a customer then, he heard a “boom” and the car was inside his Market Street store.

It happened at the Lucky Stop at around 12:15 PM.

Witnesses say an elderly woman driving an SUV crashed right through the store’s front window. Following the incident, the woman was taken away by ambulance .

The store’s owner says her SUV didn’t appear to have a lot of damage, unlike his store.

The owner says his store is still open for business.
