Election results made official as counties complete primary canvass
NEW HANOVER COUNTY (WWAY) — Election results from the March primary are being made official with county canvasses across the state on Friday.
Canvass meetings are the official process of determining that the votes have been counted correctly and to certify the election results.
The County Board of Elections in the Cape Fear region, including New Hanover, Pender, and Brunswick Counties, met to confirm all eligible ballots were counted, which include absentee ballots, provisional ballots, and ballots that weren’t able to be read in the precinct.
This video shows the New Hanover County Board of Elections finalizing the results this morning, approving all eligible ballots.
