Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce to host ‘Taste of Bladen Tourism Tour’
BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a special guided tour Wednesday to celebrate National Travel and Tourism Week.
The Taste of Bladen Tourism Tour will take attendees across the county, visiting local gems like Lu Mil Vineyard, Jones lake State Park, Goldston’s Beach and more.
In addition to celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week, the tour also coincides with Small Business Week.
The chamber of commerce says visitors spent around $56 million dollars in Bladen County in 2023. Terri Dennison with Bladen Community College’s Small Business Center says that extra tax revenue saves money for residents while also boosting small businesses.
“I think it’s why we have some great downtown areas, like Elizabethtown and Bladenboro,” Dennison said. “You know, they’re thriving, businesses are doing well, and tourists like to come to them because they’re very quaint. You’re meeting mom and pop, you’re not meeting some chain.”
Dennison says while Wednesday’s tour is already filed, you can still check out upcoming events on the Chamber of Commerce’s website.
