Entertainment complex proposed for Wilmington’s Oleander Drive
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A new two-story entertainment complex could soon be coming to Wilmington, offering a variety of activities for families and visitors. The proposed development, spanning more than 40,000 square feet, would feature an arcade, a bowling alley, a restaurant, and several pickleball courts. The complex is slated to be located in the 5000 block of Oleander Drive.
A representative from the project team shared insights into why Wilmington, and specifically the Oleander Drive location, was chosen for this new venture. “Should our project be approved, we look forward to bringing Wilmington a high-quality, locally owned entertainment option along the Oleander Drive Corridor where the whole family can gather to eat, play and celebrate all under one roof…”
Local business owner Larry Casey, who operates Casey’s Buffet and could potentially become a neighbor to the new complex, expressed support. “It will help all of us and it will be great for the city and the county—more tax revenue. I think it will be a good thing…”
Before moving forward, the proposal must receive approval from the Wilmington City Council. The development will be presented for review at their next meeting, scheduled for Tuesday.
