Investigators: Wanted felon on loose in Onslow County

ONSLOW COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — Investigators are looking for a wanted felon in Onslow County.

A news release from Onslow County Emergency Operations and the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office says the black man wearing black cargo pants, a black shirt and black and red knit cap ran off in the area of Gum Branch Road, Cow Horn and Francktown Road.

Residents in the vicinity are advised to lock their doors, do not answer the door for strangers and call 911 immediately if they see someone meeting the description of the fugitive.

The county did not provide any additional details about the suspect, including his name. The county originally said the man had escaped.
