Eva Jones and Tiffany Cartwright remembered
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — There was prayer, tears and even laughs as hundreds came together to remember and celebrate Eva Jo Jones and Tiffany Cartwright, two women who touched the lives of many.
“I’m really not surprised so many people are here,” Life Community Church Pastor Tim Blevins said. “They literally touched the lives of every person they came in contact with.”
Family and friends filled the Life Community Church to honor and celebrate Eva Jo Jones and Tiffany Cartwright. Just a few weeks ago, friends say Jones planned out how she wanted her funeral to be.
“She said that she wanted confetti cannons to be shot at her service and wanted balloon drops,” Blevins said. “That was the heart behind it. So we tried to bring a service that brought that kind of hope into the day.”
The two women are remembered by family and friends as two gracious and kind people who loved others. Jones was the outgoing one, Cartwright was more reserved, but both made a major impact in their church along with some true friendships.
“She was the kind of person that everybody felt like they were best friends with,” Jones’ friend Michelle Hilliard said. “She was the kindest most loving person I’ve ever met.”
“She was the kind of person that if you were around her, you were encouraged,” Cartwright’s supervisor at Holly Tree Elementary school Matthew Walds said. “There’s nothing negative that she can say about anyone. She always has something positive to say.”
Moving forward, Pastor Tim Blevins says that both women will be dearly missed, but this is not the end. Eva Jones and Tiffany Cartwright are not dead in their eyes; they are just living somewhere else.
“The other part of the story is where they are today. That’s what gives us hope. We need that hope. Death isn’t the final chapter for a believer. It’s just another chapter.”
