Express Y opens Monday at 5:00 a.m.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Starting Monday morning at 5:00 am the Express Y on the corner of Market and Kerr will officially be open for business.

After a fire in February, the Wilmington YMCA finally has a space of their own. On Sunday they showed off their new facility to the community with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Everyone in attendance got a chance to check out the Express Y and learn about everything it will have to offer.

“We have 3 group exercise classes, we’ve got a wonderful child Watson kids adventure area for young children, we’ve got I’m thinking over 100 classes a week that are starting up tomorrow morning,” said Dick Jones, CEO.

The refurbishment of the old facility on Market St. is still in development. Plans should be into the board by September.
