Fair Bluff celebrates Christmas parade months after Matthew
FAIR BLUFF, NC (WWAY) — Just months after Hurricane Matthew devastated the town of Fair Bluff, they got into the holiday spirit with their annual Christmas parade.
The streets of Fair Bluff were once covered in water, but Saturday they were covered with holiday cheer.
The parade started on Causey Avenue and featured boats, fancy cars and parade royalty as they rolled through the town.
Despite what the town has been through, Helen Jarvis, a resident of Fair Bluff, says after the devastation she and her husband are ready to see the town move forward to more happy times.
“Well we still have a town, we’ve got a Christmas parade and we’re hoping we’ve got a new beginning and a new start to our town,” Jarvis said. “We can rebuild, we hope.”
The chilly weather may have kept the overall numbers of visitors low, but the Christmas spirit was high.
