Families gather for 35th Annual Wilmington Earth Day Festival
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Although Earth Day was Tuesday April 22nd, the 35th annual Wilmington Earth Day Festival was held at Long Leaf Park Saturday afternoon.
This free family friendly event to celebrate the earth featured food trucks, live music and environmental information and activities.
There was also beer and wine for purchase.
Leashed pets were allowed at the event in the grassy areas.
This was a ‘zero-waste’ event so recycling and composting stations were set up throughout.
Dave Hervey with the band ‘Broccoli Brothers Circus’ enjoyed checking out all of the vendors.
“It was a fun time out here at the park for Earth Day and we just wanted to come celebrate. There is a lot of really cool stuff, a lot of good educational stuff for kids. So, yeah we are having a good time just walking around seeing it all,” Hervey said.
Hervey said his favorite part of the festival is listening to live music.
