Families gathered for Leland Christmas tree lighting
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — We are 28 days away from Christmas. Many of you are putting up decorations and getting into the holiday spirit.
Leland had their annual Christmas tree lightning ceremony Sunday evening.
Everyone was bundled up for the event as it was a chilly night. Christmas carols could be heard around town hall, even the crowd joined in for a few songs.Organizers counted down and then lit the tree followed by lots of cheer.
Mr. and Mrs. Claus were also there for the special occasion.
For the Lopez family it was fun experience, “This is our first time coming to the tree lighting and we really enjoyed ourselves. The kids had fun and there was awesome music.”
This was the second time the Rabalais family has attended, “It’s just so sweet at Christmas time just to get together and sing and watch the tree get lit. It’s just a special event.”
Kids were able to take photos Santa and tell him what they wanted for Christmas.
This is the third time Leland has held a tree lightning.
