Families watch Wilmington filmed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — It’s all about the power of turtles at the Cape Fear Museum.

The museum offered kids a chance to dress up like their favorite ninja turtle Thursday night. First, they created a mask just like a character then made some green slime.

Kids were able to enjoy a slice of pizza, which is of course a ninja turtle’s favorite.

The event is a part of their film exhibit that features movies filmed in Wilmington including the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

“We actually have some of the costumes from the original Mutant Ninja Turtles movie up in our film exhibit,” Museum Director Sheryl Mays said. “They are part of our collection that was donated years ago that were used by the people who wore them as the turtles.”

The Aquarium at Fort Fisher even brought live turtles on site for everyone to check out.

The event is sold out, but Mays says they will likely hold another turtle power night again soon.
