Family keeps murdered woman’s legacy alive

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — On the 9TH Anniversary of Allison Jackson Foy’s murder victim’s disappearance her family members have a special request to honor her. Allison Foy, a mother a two, went missing July 30, 2006. Her sister Lisa Valentino and the rest of their family have been at the forefront of keeping her name and legacy alive after her death.

Those who were close to Foy are still coping with the unsolved murder of the mother of two.

“We will never be the same,” said Foy. “I think it’s a very solvable case. You know sometimes cold cases unfortunately get put on the back burner.”

This case has been open since 2006, when Foy left the Junction and Billiards Pub on Carolina Beach Road and was never seen again. Almost two years later her remains were found in a low lying ditch just miles from the pub behind a vacant restaurant.

“Beside that initial tragedy of losing your loved one there’s a lot of collateral damage to your family in sense that relationships are torn apart,” said Valentino.

Valentino said seeing her family struggle with the grief of losing her sister; she wanted to help other families remain strong.

“You know my sister was very big in her kids and I just wanted, in her memory, to take the time for everybody else to remember her this year by spending time with those that they love and cherishing even those small moments,” said Valentino.

Valentino on behalf of the rest of Foy’s family is encouraging people to spend some quality time with loved ones on the 9th anniversary of the her sister’s disappearance.

“No matter what happens in your life, no matter how tragic, or difficult or sad it is, there are so many blessings and graces,” said Foy.

And while Foy’s family continues to honor her they still hold out hope, her killer will be caught.

“We will have final resolution and justice for Allison, and this person put someplace they can’t hurt any other people,” said Valentino.

You can share your family moments on Facebook to remember Foy. The Facebook page is called “Family Night in Memory of Foy”.

Foy’s body was found with another woman’s body Angela Rothen. We contacted police to get an update on the case and we have not received a response.
