Fashion show kicks off the beginning of the North Carolina Azalea Festival

WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY)– The beginning of the North Carolina Azalea Festivities kicked off on Sunday with a fashion show.

A fashion runway was held at the Lumina Hotel in Wrightsville Beach. Sponsored by REV Federal Credit Union, the runway consisted of men in suits, ladies in fancy dresses, and even WWAY’s Tomika Jackson and Jessica Keisling.

They talk about how their experience was walking the runway.

“The crowd always makes it easier, and when we were out there, they were celebrating,” said Jackson. “They were celebrating, they were smiling, they made it easy to rip the runway.”

“I absolutely love what I have on, I think my dresser did a good job matching my complexion,” said Keisling.

This year, the festival will have a new director, with Melissa Lasarsky.
