FBI joins investigation into jewelry store robberies

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (AP) — The FBI is investigating a Florida Panhandle jewelry store robbery that may be connected to robberies in other states.

On Tuesday, the FBI announced it will work with local law enforcement agencies to solve the Aug. 11 robbery of Reeds Jewelers in Panama City Beach’s Pier Park. The heist shared similarities to robberies of a Jared jewelry store in Woodstock, Georgia, a Zales store in Dawsonville, Georgia, and a Jared store in Bluffton, South Carolina.

The Panama City News Herald reports several of the robberies were caught on surveillance video. Up to $10,000 in reward money is being offered for information leading to the arrests of the suspects – a woman and a man.

The Woodstock, Georgia, robbery took place in April. The others were carried out in August.
