WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Some shoppers are kicking off their holiday season early—and shopping locally.

The indoor Holiday Cheer Market, hosted by TheArtWorks on Willard Street, features over 40 local artists ready to share their holiday cheer.

The event, held in Wilmington’s Studio Art Village, offers a festive atmosphere with live music and a variety of vendors.

We spoke with Patti Hazlett, owner of PrintedByPatti, a local vendor at the market, who believes events like these help strengthen community connections.

“It’s so much fun! It’s a great way to build community, and I think that’s something we’re all kind of missing right now in the digital world. So coming out in person—and not just shopping online all the time—gives you the chance to enjoy the experience. This way, you get the feel of shopping online, but everything is in one spot.”

This market is a two-day affair so if you missed Saturday you check it out Sunday from 10 am until 4 pm.
