Field Day isn’t just for kids anymore

LELAND, NC (WWAY) — In Leland this afternoon the Department of Parks and Rec. held their first ever Field Day for adults.

The idea came from one of the department’s summer interns. Teams of adults gathered to compete in all the fun games and activities they remembered from when they were kids. Organizers said the event was great fun for everyone involved.

Teams competed in events such as tug of war, egg relays, and even three legged races.

Organizers said they think this will become an annual event for the town of Leland, and encourage even more people to come out and enjoy the fun next year!
