The first full week of the high school football season is a wrap!
We saw a lot of great action tonight in the first 5th Quarter of the season for the BB&T Jamboree.
The matchups are now set for the high school football state championship games next week. Did South Columbus earn a spot in the 2-A state title game? Unfortunately they came up a bit short.
The third round of the high school football state playoffs wrapped up Friday night. We showcased the following matchups: Scotland County-Hoggard, South Columbus-East Bladen and Mount Airy-Whiteville.
The second round of the high school football state playoffs wrapped up Friday night. A handful of area teams will be get to play next Friday in the third round of the playoffs.

The high school football regular season is now over. We showcased in detail the South Columbus conference title clinching win over Fairmont on the 5th Quarter. Plus we featured Whiteville's win over St. Pauls and East Bladen's victory over Trask.
Friday may have been our most action-packed 5th Quarter of the season. Loads of significant plays, touchdowns and postgame reaction from our showcase game of the night.
At this point in the season we seem to have a handful of area high school football teams heading in the right direction. Hoggard, New Hanover, Laney, South Columbus, Whiteville and a few others are included in this group. Check out our coverage on Friday's 5th Quarter.
