The North Carolina High School Athletic Association released the pairings for the upcoming high school football playoffs on Saturday. First round action will begin on Friday, November 15th. Several schools from our region will host first round games. WWAY's 5th Quarter will be your one-stop shop throughout the playoffs.

On Sunday UNCW continued its domination in exhibition games with its 26th consecutive preseason victory following an easy 92-51 decision over NCAA Division III Methodist Sunday at Trask Coliseum. The UNCW volleyball team also won. We had highlights from both of those games on WWAY. The Cape Fear Community College women's soccer team captured the Region X title on Sunday.
