Final defendant in delivery driver murder sentenced

WILMINGTON, NC (StarNews) — Nathaniel Lawrence, the last of six people charged in the June 2012 killing of a Chinese food delivery driver, was sentenced to 20 to 36 months in prison on Tuesday in New Hanover County Superior Court, with credit for time served in jail.
Judge John Noble also authorized work release for Lawrence, who pleaded guilty April 7, 2014, to conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.
On June 12, 2012, Zhen Bo Liu, a 60-year-old grandfather from Shanghai, was working part time at a Chinese restaurant on 17th Street when he was called to 13th Street for a phony delivery order.
