Fire departments rescue driver pinned in vehicle in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A accident victim was successfully rescued after being pinned inside a vehicle following a crash on a Bladen County road.
It happened just before 6:00 am on Hickory Twisted Road in Dublin.
According to officials, crews from Dublin and Elizabethtown Fire Departments responded to the scene and worked together to extricate the trapped individual. The patient was then turned over to Bladen County EMS for medical treatment.
“We would like to extend a thank you to Elizabethtown Fire Department who without hesitation responded to assist due to the nature of the incident,” Dublin Fire Department said in a statement. “Teamwork is a huge part of the fire service and we are lucky to have great mutual aid stations who are ready and willing to help us out in any situation.”
In a light-hearted note, the department added that anyone interested in joining the fire service, and who doesn’t mind being woken up in the middle of the night to help others, is welcome to attend weekly meetings held Tuesday nights at 7 p.m.
