Fire leaves 3 people without a home in Pender County

WWAY–A house fire broke out early this morning at approximately 4:25 AM on Rocky Point Training School Road, resulting in significant damage to a single wide mobile home. According to the Pender County Fire Marshall, Firefighters from Rocky Point Volunteer Fire Department, Pender EMS & Fire, and New Hanover County Fire & Rescue responded swiftly to the scene, where they encountered heavy fire conditions.
When they arrived, crews worked diligently to contain the blaze and prevent further spread to nearby structures. Despite their efforts, the fire caused extensive damage to the home, displacing three occupants. The American Red Cross is on site providing assistance and support to those affected during this challenging time.
The Cause of the fire is currently under investigation. No injuries were reported.
